Klamath Falls Utility Card Fee Begins August 1

The city says utility customers can avoid the 3% charge by paying through ACH, check or cash.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Klamath Falls utility customers who pay by credit or debit card will see a new processing charge beginning Aug. 1.

The City of Klamath Falls announced that a 3% charge will apply to utility payments made by credit or debit card. According to the city, the fee is charged by its payment processing provider to cover transaction costs and is not retained by the city.

Customers who want to avoid the fee can continue paying by ACH, check or cash.

The city said it is announcing the change ahead of time so customers have time to choose the payment option that works best for them before the new charge takes effect.

Customers with questions can contact the Utility Billing Department at 541-883-5301 or utilitybillingcontact@klamathfalls.city.
