Falcons Sweep Six-Game Week, Remain Unbeaten in Area 4

Klamath Falls outscored its opponents 74-6 and enters the final week of the regular season alone atop the Area 4 standings.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Falcons swept six games in five days, overpowering South Medford in four meetings before taking both ends of a Saturday doubleheader against North Medford.
Klamath Falls outscored the two Medford clubs 74-6, collected 69 hits and allowed just 22. Four of the six games ended after five innings, while the Falcons never surrendered more than two runs in a game. The unbeaten week improved Klamath Falls to 26-3 overall and 14-0 in Area 4 play.
Jacoby Tacchini led the offensive surge, batting 12-for-17 with six doubles, nine RBI and the Falcons’ first home run of the season. Tacchini opened the week with hits in 11 consecutive official at-bats, including a 5-for-5 performance Tuesday and a 4-for-4 game with three doubles and five RBI Thursday.
Ian Meyer finished the six-game stretch 9-for-19 with 15 RBI, including four in the opening game of the week. Corbin Hamilton added 10 hits and eight RBI, collecting six hits and driving in seven runs during Saturday’s sweep of North Medford.
The Falcons were just as dominant on the mound. Hamilton earned two complete-game victories, allowing one run across 10 innings with 13 strikeouts. Colby Medeiros also picked up two wins, giving up two runs over 12⅔ innings and improving to 5-0 this summer.
Kollin Tacchini earned another complete-game victory, holding South Medford to two hits over five innings. P.J. Safford supplied the remaining win with 3⅓ scoreless innings of relief, retiring 10 of the 11 batters he faced and striking out five.
Falcons Alone Atop Area 4
Klamath Falls enters the final week of the regular season as the only unbeaten team in Area 4. Central Point sits second at 12-4, followed by North Medford at 8-8 and South Medford at 7-9.
Grants Pass is fifth at 5-9, while North Jackson sits sixth at 2-16.
The Falcons need three victories over their final six regular-season games to secure a spot in the Oregon Single A state tournament.
Klamath Falls returns home Monday, July 13, for Youth Baseball Night, hosting the Grants Pass Diggers at 6 p.m.
