Loveless Fire Prompts Level 3 Evacuation Northeast of Sprague River
The wildfire was estimated at 75 acres in early reports as evacuation orders and warnings were issued for multiple zones in Klamath County.
UPDATE, July 20, 2026 11:49am:
Firefighters have fully lined the Loveless Fire north of Beatty, which is now estimated at 247 acres. Crews remain on scene conducting mop-up operations, with officials reporting that work is about 50% complete. The public is asked to continue avoiding the area while firefighters work.

The Oregon State Fire Marshal has approved an Immediate Response request for the Loveless Fire and is mobilizing two task forces from Clatsop and Yamhill counties to Klamath County.
OSFM says the fire near Sprague River has grown to more than 100 acres. The incoming task forces will work with Klamath County Fire District 3 to help protect nearby homes and are expected to arrive later Saturday evening.
At the same time, evacuation levels have been reduced in several areas:
Level 2 – BE SET: KLA-1221
Level 1 – BE READY: KLA-1211, KLA-1216, KLA-1226, KLA-1231
Evacuations lifted: KLA-1201, KLA-1206, KLA-1441

SPRAGUE RIVER, Ore. — A new wildfire burning northeast of Sprague River in Klamath County has prompted evacuation orders and warnings as crews respond to active fire behavior Saturday.
The fire, currently being called the Loveless Fire, was estimated at approximately 75 acres in early reports July 18.

The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following evacuations.
Level 3 – GO: KLA-1221

Level 1 - READY:

KLA-1441
Residents in a Level 3 evacuation zone should leave immediately, while those under Level 2 warnings should be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
An evacuation point has been established at the Sprague Community Center
Early reports indicate the fire is burning through timber, grass and brush and has been spotting heavily. The fire has also reportedly crossed Oregon Pines Road approximately one-eighth of a mile from the ignition point.
Information remains preliminary as firefighters continue responding to the incident and conditions develop.
