Forward Progress Stopped on Third-Alarm White City Fire
The fire spread from Avenue G into surrounding businesses and reached the fence separating the incident from the VA property.

Forward progress has been stopped on the third-alarm industrial fire in White City. The fire began at 2645 Avenue G before spreading into surrounding businesses and threatening numerous commercial properties.
The fire reached the fence separating the incident from the Veterans Affairs property, but Oregon Department of Forestry crews stopped it before it spread farther into the VA grounds.
Some firefighting resources will be released Saturday night, while others will remain on scene overnight to continue suppression work and extinguish hotspots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
WHITE CITY, Ore. — Forward progress has been stopped on a third-alarm industrial fire that spread through multiple businesses in White City Saturday evening.
Jackson County Fire District 3 said the fire originated at 2645 Avenue G before spreading into businesses in the surrounding area. Numerous commercial properties were threatened and impacted as firefighters worked to contain the flames.
The fire reached the fence separating the incident from the Veterans Affairs property. Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District crews stopped the fire before it could spread farther into the VA grounds.
Some resources will be released over the next several hours, while others will remain on scene overnight to continue suppression efforts and extinguish hotspots.
The response included firefighters and support personnel from agencies across Jackson County. Jackson County Fire District 3 said resources were stretched across the Rogue Valley by a large fire in Grants Pass, several serious crashes, other emergency calls, and the White City fire.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office provided ice and rehabilitation support for firefighters, including crews experiencing heat exhaustion during the response. Pacific Power also assisted at the scene.
The incident response included six chief officers, seven engines, three heavy brush engines, two ladder trucks, and one water tender.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
Jackson County Fire District 3 said this would be its final update Saturday evening unless conditions change.
