Strong winds and extremely low humidity will create critical fire weather conditions across parts of Southern Oregon and Northern California Friday and Saturday. Wind gusts could reach 35 mph as humidity falls into the single digits in some areas.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect through Sunday for parts of the Klamath Basin, eastern Klamath County and Modoc County. Strong southwest winds, very low humidity and critically dry fuels could allow new fires to spread rapidly, while hot inland weather continues across the region.

The Siskiyou Golden Fair is underway in Yreka, with three big days still ahead. Friday brings Senior Day and rodeo action, Saturday adds Military Appreciation Day and a free grandstand jaripeo, and Sunday wraps the fair with Family Day, free admission for everyone and the Destruction Derby

A noticeable shift toward cooler, breezier and somewhat wetter weather is expected Friday into Saturday across Southern Oregon and Northern California. Rain chances appear most likely west of the Cascades and along the coast, while the broader regional impact may be the sharp cooldown during a busy outdoor-event weekend.

A Heat Advisory is in effect Monday and Tuesday for much of southwest Oregon and parts of Northern California, with afternoon highs of 95 to 100 expected in the Rogue Valley and nearby low-lying valleys.

The first significant heat wave of the summer is expected to bring 90-degree and triple-digit temperatures to much of Southern Oregon and Northern California this weekend, prompting heat advisories across several west side valleys, coastal areas and parts of far Northern California.
