A juvenile was detained after motorists reported a grass fire near Highway 62 in White City. Firefighters contained the 40 by 40 foot burn before it could spread, while deputies recovered matches and referred the case for possible charges, including arson.

Forward progress has been stopped on a third-alarm industrial fire in White City. The fire began at 2645 Avenue G, spread into surrounding businesses, and reached the fence separating the incident from the VA property.

Firefighters are battling a three-alarm fire at the Biomass One facility in White City. Avenue G is closed between Agate Road and Highway 62, with traffic routed to Antelope Road and Linn Road as multiple agencies support suppression efforts.

Two Central Point residents were killed Monday night in a crash involving a pickup and motorcycle on Highway 62 in Jackson County, according to Oregon State Police. OSP says impairment is considered a primary cause of the crash, and a Medford driver was arrested on DUII, reckless driving, and manslaughter charges.

Bridge repair work is beginning on Oregon 62 at the Lost Creek Lake/Peyton Bridge north of Shady Cove. ODOT says drivers should expect a single-lane work zone, reduced speeds, automated traffic control and short delays through fall 2026 as crews repair the bridge deck, joints, pavement and guardrails.

A driver was arrested following a multi-vehicle crash on Crater Lake Highway in the Medford area that caused congestion and prompted a reconstruction investigation. Police said intoxication contributed to the collision, which resulted in injuries to other drivers. The roadway has since reopened.
