KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Firefighters in Klamath and Lake counties recently stopped two separate structure fires from spreading, including a garage fire in Klamath Falls and a fully involved shop fire in the Lakeview area.
Klamath County Fire District 1 responded Sunday, Oct. 11, to a structure fire on Clinton Avenue in Klamath Falls.
Crews arrived about four minutes after dispatch and immediately began an offensive attack.
Firefighters found the fire involving the garage, with limited extension into the attic. KCFD1 said crews were able to contain most of the damage to the garage and prevent the flames from spreading farther into the residence.
Fourteen emergency responders worked the incident with four fire engines and two command vehicles.
No occupants or firefighters were injured.
Photos released by the district show significant fire damage to the garage exterior and interior, including burned siding, exposed framing, and damage around the garage opening.
The cause remains under investigation.

Shop Fire Near Lakeview
In Lake County, the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department recently responded with several partner agencies to a fully engulfed shop.
Lakeview firefighters were joined by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Creek-Westside Rural Fire Protection District, Dog Lake Construction, and Lake County EMS.
The department said the quick response prevented the fire from spreading beyond the involved structure.
Lakeview Fire did not provide additional details about the location, extent of damage, injuries, or cause in its initial public report.
Following the fire, the department reminded residents to inspect heat lamps, heaters, and other warming equipment as colder temperatures return to the region.
Firefighters specifically cautioned against placing combustible materials such as cardboard, paper, and wood too close to heating equipment.
The department did not say heating equipment caused the Lake County fire.
Both incidents come as overnight temperatures across Southern Oregon begin dropping toward freezing, increasing the use of portable heaters, heat lamps, and other seasonal warming equipment in homes, garages, shops, and outbuildings.
