SCOFMP says the Wrights Spring Fire has grown to approximately 1,200 acres, with about 100 firefighters working through the night to contain the fire and strengthen control lines. More resources are en route.
The response includes approcimately 100 firefighters, 11 engines, 5 water tenders, 2 skidgines, 2 helicopters, 8 single engine air tankers, 3 large air tankers, 4 MAFFS aircraft, and 4 twenty-person handcrews that have been ordered.
No evacuations or formal closures are in effect. The public is strongly encouraged to avoid Forest Service roads 5813, 5817, and 22, also known as Switchback Road, because of heavy fire traffic and ongoing operations.

The Wrights Spring Fire is now listed at 1,200 acres in WildCAD-E, more than double the 500-acre figure reported earlier Wednesday evening.

The Wrights Spring Fire is now listed at 500 acres in WildCAD-E, up from the earlier estimate of 100 acres. The dispatch system continues to show a large ground and aviation response. No containment percentage was listed in the latest update.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Firefighters are responding to the Wrights Spring Fire about six miles east of Modoc Point in Klamath County.
The fire remained estimated at roughly 100 acres Wednesday evening, according to SCOFMP. The fire is burning in timber northeast of Upper Klamath Lake.
Eight engines, four single engine air tankers, two dozers, two helicopters, and a helitack crew are assigned to the incident.
A large smoke column could be seen across the area north of Klamath Falls. Images shared by SCOFMP showed heavy smoke rising above the surrounding forest as ground and aviation resources worked the fire.
No structures are threatened, and no closures are in effect. Crews are actively working to contain the fire, but no containment percentage has been released.
