Bonanza Man Dies in Highway 140 Motorcycle Crash

Oregon State Police said the fatal crash happened Tuesday afternoon near Kingfisher Drive in the Bly Mountain area of Klamath County.

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — A Bonanza man died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Oregon Highway 140 near milepost 30, close to Kingfisher Drive in the Bly Mountain area, according to Oregon State Police.

OSP said troopers responded at approximately 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, June 30.

 
 

According to the preliminary investigation, Wesley Carl Lawson, 74, of Bonanza, was riding a black Honda motorcycle eastbound on Highway 140 when the motorcycle left the roadway for an unknown reason and crashed on the eastbound shoulder.

Lawson was declared deceased at the scene.

The highway was impacted for approximately one hour while investigators worked at the crash site.

OSP was assisted by the Bonanza Fire Department, Life Flight and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
