Bonanza Man Arrested in Klamath County Homicide Investigation
Oregon State Police are asking anyone with additional information about the fatal shooting on Whitetail Lane to contact investigators.

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. — A Bonanza man has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation after a man was found shot to death inside a vehicle Saturday evening, according to Oregon State Police.
Klamath County 911 received a report at approximately 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, of a person who had been shot inside a vehicle on Whitetail Lane in Bonanza.
Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and located a deceased man, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Carr of Bonanza.
The Klamath County Major Crime Team was activated to investigate the death, with Oregon State Police serving as the lead investigating agency.
Following the initial investigation, police arrested 53-year-old Thomas Sylvester of Bonanza.
Sylvester was lodged in the Klamath County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.
The Klamath County Major Crime Team includes Oregon State Police, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, Klamath Falls Police Department, Klamath County Parole and Probation, and the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office.
