BEND, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Human Services is asking for the public’s help finding two children who have been missing from Bend since July 23.
Julian Hawes, 10, and Mahina Hawes, 9, are believed to be in danger, according to the ODHS Child Welfare Division. Officials believe the children may still be in Deschutes County, either in Bend or Redmond.
Anyone who believes they have seen Julian or Mahina should call 911 or contact local law enforcement.
Julian is 4 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 85 pounds. He has short blond hair and green eyes.
Mahina is 4 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 65 pounds. She has shoulder-length sandy brown hair and green eyes.
Both children are listed under Bend Police Department case number 2026-0004065 and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children report number 2096219.
ODHS said it issues public alerts in some cases when a missing child may be in significant danger and the agency needs to locate the child to assess and support their safety.
Suspected child abuse can be reported to the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline at 1-855-503-SAFE (7233). The hotline is available 24 hours a day.
