Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center and Three Rivers Medical Center have earned national recognition from Forbes, while Rogue Regional also received a U.S. News distinction for community access. The honors come during a challenging year for the health system.

A 22-year-old man died Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highland Avenue in Grants Pass. Police said Gabriel Davis was killed when his car veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.

Asante says its hospitals, emergency departments and immediate care locations will remain open as the health system moves forward with layoffs and cost-cutting efforts. The organization says 300 or more employees may be affected in fiscal year 2026 as it works to address rising expenses, lower reimbursement rates and other financial pressures.

Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Grants Pass after a woman was fatally shot by police while reportedly firing handguns in a public roadway Saturday afternoon.
