Shots Fired During Medford Break-In
A family safely escaped a Gilman Road home Sunday night after reporting a burglary in progress and shots fired by the homeowner. Medford Police say the suspect was found wounded inside the residence and taken into custody.
Elder Mistreatment Report Leads to Animal Neglect Case in Central Point
A Central Point elder mistreatment investigation has led to animal abuse and neglect charges after police say more than 60 cats were found inside a Valley Oak Boulevard home, including several that were deceased. Investigators said hazardous conditions required officers and animal control staff to wear protective suits and respirators.
Two Arrested After Gold Hill Shots-Fired Call
Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two unrelated suspects Thursday night after a shots-fired call near Gold Hill led to a pursuit and a separate arrest connected to the original report. Deputies say one suspect was arrested after fleeing in a truck, while another was later arrested after firearms were found in a second vehicle.
Child Sex Abuse Suspect Arrested in White City
A Medford man wanted on multiple felony child sex abuse charges was arrested Monday in White City by a U.S. Marshals-led task force. Authorities say the arrest followed a years-long investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, and additional federal charges were added after the suspect was booked into jail.
